Painting Preparation

Preparation for painting your piece is generally pretty easy – Clean your piece with White Lighting and paint! Occasionally you will run into pieces that require some additional preparation as follows:

BOSS: When you need a oder blocker, stain blocker or you think you might get bleed through on your piece. Sometimes with whites and light colors on dark stains or unfinished pine pieces, you might encounter bleed thru issues. If you think that this is a potential issue with your piece, we recommend testing it by painting a small area. If you encounter any bleed through then use BOSS first.

Slick Stick: For very shiny surfaces such as glass or laminate surfaces or very glossy finished surfaces, we recommend applying Slick Stick first to improve the adhesion to these surfaces.

When done painting for the day, reach for some scrubby soap! Great for removing the paint from your hands and fingernails!
