$55 | Chalk Mineral Paint 101

This hands on class will show you Chalk Painting Basics and you will walk away with a reference panel that illustrates the different finish options side by side (flat, satin gloss and wax).
Class Length: 1.5 Hours

CMP 101 Class Details
Learn how to use chalk paint while creating a handy reference panel showing the sheen of each finish type – clear coat in flat, satin and gloss and wax finish. While you paint, we will guide you step by step while you learn:

  • What Chalk Mineral Paint is
  • About the tools of the trade
  • How to prepare your piece for painting
  • How to paint with chalk paint
  • About Distressing your piece
  • How to seal/finish your piece

    • Everything you need is included in the price of the course. This class is great for novice/beginner painters and anyone interested in refreshing their knowledge of the basics! Take your panel home and use it as a reference when selecting finishes for your next project.

    $95 | Paint Your Own Piece!

    Do you have that small piece that you’ve been wanting to paint in your basement? Well now is the time! Finally learn how to chalk paint it in our studio class!
    Class Length: 2.5 Hours
    4 people max.

    Studio Class Details
    Bring in your small piece and paint it in our studio while getting tips on how to chalk paint! After a 15 minute instruction and Q & A on chalk paint basics, you will have the remainder of the class time to prep and paint your piece in a studio environment. Ask all those burning questions and get tips while you paint! We encourage a free exchange of ideas between everyone! During the last 15 minutes of the class we will review finish options while your piece drys.

    For this workshop you will bring your own small piece (nightstand, end table, chair, a few drawers to a larger piece). Please limit pieces to roughly 30”W x 30”D x 40”H and be able to carry it in by yourself. One 8oz container of paint (color of your choosing) is included. The Dixie Belle line will be available before and after the class for you to purchase any additional items that you need in order to finish your piece at home!

    This is a Quick Hands On/How To Demonstration Session to get you up and running with Chalk Painting Basics – Fast!
    Class Length: 40 minutes
    8 people max.

    Chalk Paint Primer Details
    You will learn how to use chalk paint basics while applying paint to a piece(s) of furniture that we provide!

    This will be a group painting event, where you will gather around a piece grab a brush, pick a section of the piece to paint, and go at it! The purpose is to get your hands on the paint, quickly see what it can do and how it feels In order to build up your confidence so you can paint your own piece at home! There will be a 10 minute verbal introduction to chalk painting, then you will grab a brush and try it for your self! Once you find out how easy peasy it is, you’ll wonder why you had not tried it before! All retried supplies are provided.

    So you have painted your piece and now you want to emphasize the details and give your piece some depth. This Class will give you options to take your painting abilities to the next level!
    Class Length: 1.5 Hours
    10 people max.

    Glaze Wax & Dirt Class Details
    In this class you will familiarize yourself with four ways to add some depth to your piece using:

  • Dixie Dirt
  • Dixie Belle Glaze
  • Gilding Wax
  • Best Dang Wax – Colored waxes

    • You will paint four small rosette moldings with different colors. Then you’ll apply the glaze, wax or dirt to each molding building it up to the desired look. Finally you will seal each block and more the back with the materials used for your reference when you take them home!

    $65 | Painted Frames

    Get Social with new friends while learning how to use Dixie Belle Chalk Mineral Paint! We will be painting two picture frames; each frame will be painted using a different technique.
    Class Length: 1.5 Hours
    4 people max.

    Painted Frames Class Details
    While you get creative painting picture frames, you will learn the following:

  • The Basics of Chalk Paint
  • How to “Shabby Chic” your piece
  • How to Dry Brush
  • Adding Texture to a piece using Sea Spray from Dixie Belle
  • Two methods of sealing your piece – Clear Coat and Traditional Wax

    • We will walk you through each of the two techniques, step by step. By the time you are done, you will have learned some chalk paint basics and learn some intermediate techniques as well! Everything you need is included in the price of the course. This class is great for novice painters to experienced painters! You will be able to take your creation home with you at the end of the class!

    Does your kitchen or bath need an update?
    You’ll be amazed how painting your cabinets will refresh the look of your kitchen/bath! A little paint and elbow grease will get you a beautifully updated kitchen in a new custom color for pennies when compared to brand new cabinets!
    Class Length: 3 Hours
    10 people max.

    Cabinet Painting Class Details
    This class will go over the Kitchen/Bath Cabinet paint process, step by step from cabinet preparation to the best methods of painting your cabinets to sealing them to give a lasting finish!

    We will provide two sample doors to paint during the class. (Alternatively you will remove two of your cabinet doors to bring with you to this class to paint). We will use these doors to learn the process which you will repeat at home with the rest of you kitchen! The Dixie Belle line will be available before and after the class for you to purchase any additional items that you need in order to finish your kitchen bathroom.
